The Sudan Committee met companies from Tekirdag.
Under a two-day program, the Sudanese committee in Tekirdag first visited the agricultural machinery manufacturers in Hayrabolu. The committee asked questions to the manufacturers about the sector, and they invited investors to make investments in Sudan. Following the visit, a meeting was held in attendance of members from the Hayrabolu Chamber of Trade and Industry. Mr. Adda Alla Ahmad, the Sudanese Investment Minister, delivered a speech in the meeting, and provided valuable insight to Sudan. Emphasizing that the relations between Sudan and Turkey are great, The Minister Ahmet talked about the investment setting and investment incentives in Sudan in detail, and invited investors to his country. After the Sudanese Investment Minister, Mr Mahmut Sahin, the General Secretary of the Trakya Development Agency delivered a speech. He emphasized that Sudan is a big market and that is the reason why they had to invite the Sudanese committee to Tekirdag: Firms based in Trakya may tap this potential in that market. Stating that the relations between Sudan and Turkey were actually a win-win one, cooperation in different areas would significantly contribute to both countries. Members from the Hayrabolu Chamber of Trade and Industry had the chance to hold bilateral meetings with the Sudanese Investment Minister and the Istanbul Consul General of Sudan.
Following the visits to two companies in Muratli, the committee met members from the Tekirdag Commodity Exchange Market. The meeting held at the Tekirdag Commodity Exchange Market was honored by Adda Alla Ahmed, the Sudanese Investment and Industry Minister, Asim Mukhtar, the Istanbul Consul General of Sudan, Mahmut Sahin, General Secretary at the Trakya Development Agency, Imdat Saygi, the President of the Tekirdag Chamber of Agriculture, Serif Baykut, the Tekirdag Dairy Products Association President, Osman Sari, Board Chairman at the Tekirdag Commodity Exchange Market and a high number of businessmen from Tekirdag. The first day program came to an end after Adda Alla Ahmed, the Sudanese Investment and Industry Minister and Asim Mukhtar, the Istanbul Consul General of Sudan answered the questions.
The Sudanese Committee visited the Chambers of Trade and Industry at Tekirdag and Corlu.
On the second day of the program, the Committee visited the Tekirdag Chamber of Trade and Industry. Mahmut Sahin, the General Secretary at the Trakya Development Agency, also attended the talks with the committee, which was warmly welcomed by Cengiz Gunay, the Chamber President, and Mustafa Ozden, the Council Chairman. During the meeting, Adda Alla Ahmed, the Sudanese Investment Minister, underlined the similar characteristics of Trakya and Sudan. Pointing out that his country needed investments in agriculture and husbandry, fodder production, leather, textiles and agricultural machinery, the Sudanese Minister invited Thracian businessmen to consider the investment opportunities in Sudan. Underlining the fact that they would not turn a deaf ear to this invitation, Cengiz Gunay, the President of the Tekirdag Chamber of Trade and Industry, said that they would make a trip to Sudan under the coordination of the Trakya Development Agency.
The Committee’s next stop was the Trakya Development Agency premises. Highly pleased to entertain his guests at the premises, Mahmut Sahin, General Secretary at the Trakya Development Agency, made a presentation informing about the agency, and briefed his guests about his projects.
During the afternoon, the Sudanese minister and his entourage visited the Corlu Leather Organized Industrial Zone. Welcomed by Mr. Bulent Duman, the Board Chairman, the committee received a presentation about the organized industry zone and they visited the field. Towards the end of the day, the committee paid visits two industrial facilities and their final stop was the Corlu Chamber of Trade and Industry. The committee was welcomed by Enis Sulun, the Chamber President, and Corlu, an industrial site, was presented to the committee. The committee was briefed about the members of the chamber and their business areas. Completing their agenda with this visit, the Sudanese committee departed Tekirdag.
